倪明选所长,1980年在美国普渡大学(Purdue University)获得电机工程博士学位。IEEE院士,香港科技大学计算机系教授、系主任,香港科技大学教育部/微软亚洲研究院IT重点实验室主任,香港科技大学信息技术学院院长,中国科学院深圳先进技术研究院AF教授,上海交通大学特聘教授。倪明选教授几十年来致力于无线网络、高速网络计算、高性能计算机及其结构、并行和分布式处理等领域,为计算机科学特别是高性能计算和网络的发展做出了卓越的贡献。

  历任美国国家自然科学基金委员会微电子系统结构项目主任,Ad Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks国际期刊顾问、区域编委,Pervasive and Mobile Computing Journal; International Journal of Grid and Utility Computing;International Journal of High Performance Computing and Networking;IEEE Trans. on Computers (1992-1996); IEEE Trans. on Parallel and Distributed Systems; Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing等高级别国际期刊编委。在10余个国际会议被邀请为主题发言人。曾获1992年 International Conference on Parallel Processing,1992 Annual ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Computer Architecture, 1996 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems,1996 International Conference on Parallel Processing等国际会议的最佳论文奖;Michigan State大学卓著员工奖;中科院海外专家顾问等荣誉。目前出版3本专著,75篇期刊文章,211篇会议论文,共被引用5000多次。
